Hmm.. It certainly doesn’t owe you anything but I think I’d be mic’ing the journals and rod ends closely. Assembly and component design have improved over the years. I’ve seen recent 1m mile big truck engines with amazing looking parts with typical care and OCIs.

Would be real surprised if anything but the gauge, sensor or wiring. Chased a couple of oil press gauges on the old obs. Had plenty of pressure w mech gauge.

😆 yep.. I was on the interstate when I literally saw the gauge go from good to not good. Had 6-8 miles before home.

Acts like coalescer but without a filter to separate the oil a little more.. interesting. I’ve been wanting to get the vent back into the intake.

I’ve had cold haze below 70 on casserlys for years now. They were freshened 8-9 yrs ago. My interest in chasing these little issues has been lost so I don’t eff with it unless something major is wrong.

Anyone have a quick PN for a 5” intake, Donaldson/6637 style? I’ve always used the blue AFE and just gets ineffective after even 5k miles. May have to use their same shape paper filter.

Do you have AE plugged in the truck all the time? If so, you don’t need scan gauge haha. But, the utility of constant information in a 2 5/8” gauge at a glance, codes and even quick buzz test , is helpful to me.

J, If you don’t have an aeroforce scan gauge, I’d get one.. most useful mod on my truck and wouldn’t have another 7.3 without it. I don’t worry about absolute numbers, but I’ll see change quickly.

Haha, it certainly wouldn’t hurt.. it hasn’t had the VCs off in almost 10 years since Casserly last freshened the injs. I’ve often thought that the orings need to be looked at, but pressure has stayed consistent. It’s used on the tow file 3/4 of the time and the pump works real good there...
