Will the trimless new style solid rear windows work in an older cab or is something different?
Also...how are they held in ?
My old Supercrew was that rope style caulk stuff plus some bolts...are these the same?

Agjake11 might be able to help, I believe he just put a 08-10 slider in his 04' but I'm not sure if it's the same as a solid window

I'm 95% certain it will work. the newer one is held in with glue, and the metal stamping in the area is the same. I haven't had one out of the new trucks yet, but I can imagine there being some studs with nuts to hold it in place meaning you just need to do a little drilling. Pure speculation on the studs and nuts though. I can look a little closer tomorrow.

Yea it will work. It needs to be spaced out though. I you try and have it glued in to the cab without spacing it out it won't seal properly and will look like azz (that's how they did mine the first time)

It's held in with glue and to do it right you can get a spacer from the newer truck or run a bead of sealant and let it dry then run the bead with the glass and seal it.

What did you pay at the salvage yard?
I'm looking for a solid glass so I know it'll be a little less.

The only problem I see with this is leaks. GM has been using this style on there trucks for years and they seperate. I have 3 GM work trucks I bought new and within 2 years all the back windows seperated at the top and leaked .It does look better though !

you can see where the 04 gasket around the window held water in it at the cab (inside) and caused it to have surface rust. i was going to get an 05-07 power slide but they only had the 08 for same price so i said ok

Agjake- You have any more pics of the install? Spacer? The motor on the old sliders bolted to the back of the cab inside. These still the same?

I can get some tomorrow. The motor mounts like the older ones to the back of the cab and behind the trim piece. Uses same plug that was in the truck prewired to the motor also.

Mine was spaced out with a good bead or two of the sealant an letting it dry before installing the window
