i have bought the upfitter switches and relay harness. Apparently ford doesnt even supply installation instructions. great. I have the dash tore apart and switches mounted. From here i have no idea which way to take the harness for the harness plug, i have read to access the fuse panel on the passenger side, but i cant find the "available" 8 pin plug in there. I also read on here a guy said his was "to the right of the brake and up behind the dash" i have laid on my head for over an hour and am getting slightly cranky at this point. Can Anyone tell me definitely for sure where this stupid plug is?

On my 08 it was "to the right of the brake, by the gas pedal, and up behind the dash" and I mean way the eff up there. Barely able to reach it much less enough slack to connect the two together. Also more likely not going to see it either, it's more like reach up and feel around until you find it. Mine might have even been taped to another harness, its been 2 years since I did mine.

just finished installing a set in my 2008 ,its not an easy install . at least the plugin for the harness was exposed so i could see it , i had a hell of a time getting the plug cover off, i found the hardest part was backing off the screw that holds the ground wire in place its in a really akward spot and already had some other ground wire under it, relay box wasn't so bad once i fugured out how oi remove the panel on the left side of the dash that houses the light switch, glad its done :)

This is very accurate. The ground screw is a PITA because of the angle and the harness plug I think has a clip holding it to the firewall and may be dead plugged.

I've installed a few but ground screw always sticks out as the pain in the ass. The relay box bolts in behind the access panel you can see with the driver door open.

If you're in WV can't be to far. Drive up to my shop and I'll help you install it. :ford:

I installed a set in an xl model 2015 about 2 months ago. I totally meant to do a write up on it because it was a PITA! The plug was way back against the back of the dash/firewall, close to the middle, and almost all the way up the dash. Finding that plug was by far the worst part, and getting the harness ran through the dash to look factory. Don't know if the 6.4's are located in the same spot though.

Mine is not quite routed the same as factory , i couln't get my big meat hooks up under neath the dash far enough to push it up high , so i just routed it through the best I could and used zap straps to hold it in place. Yes that ground screw caused me a few scars:mad: I used a small 1/4 " drive rachet and socket , that helped a bit .
