Well I lowered my F350 down a little and now I have a shudder when I start moving from a stop nothing serious just annoying. I want to switch to a 1 piece and was curious if anyone on here knew of a good place to get it from. Thanks

I'm in New Hampshire, but i have found a few places that make 5" aluminum units that look pretty decent and they ship them for a reasonable price. What is the place in Houston?

iv had a bad experance with a AL ds. sold a mercasdes 123 body with a 1jz motor and tranny, the drive shaft complety twisted at 130ish mph the drive shaft was just scary thin and couldnt take that much speed. replaced it with a good steal on (in san antonio) and never had the same problem again

Just out of curioousity. Did you adjust your pinion angle any after you lowered your truck? Could just be the driveline angle needs adjusting. You might have, but just trying to help.

if you find a local place near you they can usually do them pretty cheap as well. I had a place down here in Va Beach modify my stock one into a 1 piece for 190 bucks with new ujoints installed, balanced and painted. I installed it, but it took 20 minutes.

A lot of place I dealt with would not make a one piece driveshaft if it was over 6 feet... If you are in that. Catagory, replace your factory joint with a CV joint... No more shudder. More expensive option, but not many of us are able to get a one piece...

Well in my first 08 250 i added the 350 blocks and I had the same kind of vibration on take off, to fix that i added a 1/2 or 3/4 inch spacer to the carrier bearing but on my lowered 350 I would have to make a whole new frame to bring the carrier closer to the bed and seeing as the bearing and ujoints should be changed anyway i might as well do away with the carrier and get a stronger shaft.

I agree .. and while He stated He cant raise the carrier without getting creative I am not sure He would have to

it may just need a pinion angle correction ?

Here is a pdf showing how to make sure all angles are good ,, 2 peice is around page 14 IIRC

Yup, I lowered mine 5" in the rear and 3" in the front. The most frustraiting part was getting the pinion angle correct. I had to losen off the rear 3 times and move it. But finally got it worked out with no vibration.
