I have been playing with rear brakes for some time and trying to figure out how to run a 99.5-04 based rear brake setup on the rear of a 05-12 f250 without changing hubs, axles, and rotors from a 99.5-04 rear axle which then changes wheel offset. I figured there must be another way. So after alot of measuring and buying a 2001 f250 rear axle complete to study and compare to my 08. I figured out parking brake assembly bracket, Which caliper bracket bolts too, are the same on both models with exception of mounting holes enlarged on 05 up rear ends for larger caliper brackets. So I have proceeded to have caliper brackets holes modified from old style brakes to accommodate our larger mounting bolts. And I had a rotor fabricated from my 08 model to match the old style specs height and width of the old style brakes system rotor. Well let's say it all works. Bolts up as stock would. All clearances just as older models were. But keeps all offset same as stock. Basically a converted bracket and rotor get the job done. Don't know how many people would be interested in this but on a 2wd track truck it's a must. Actually nets 15" in overall caliper diameter now where stock was like 16.25". Now a 16" wheel is bolt on friendly. Note: 13 up trucks have some brake changes so this is not confirmed on them. But I will study this next time I get a 13 up in the shop. Thanks.
