17x7.5 tire size question

275/50r17 on 17x7.5 stock rims

anyone see anything wrong with that?

A 27" x 10.8" x 17" tire? I guess you could... but why? Just make sure it has the appropriate load ratings I guess.

its a drag radial. on the site it says for a 9'' rim but other tires of the same size say 7.5-9'' rim

I kind of figured. That's a short tire! Didn't know they had drag radials for 17" wheels, who makes the tire? I can't really comment on this I guess, just not familiar enough with the drag radial setup. I will say I've run a 33x12.5x17 tire on the stock 17x7.5's haha.

What about take the stock wheels and having them widened? I've seen this done for this exact same thing, using stock wheels with a wide drag tire.

its a M and H tire. 28'' puts me at 126mph at 4000 rpm so I should be fine. If not ill put 355s in it.

Probably better off just calling the guys at M&H up on it. Myself, I'd run it, but having a tire come apart at those speeds wouldn't be much fun either. Or look into the wheel widening. These guys do it: http://www.wheelsamerica.com/index.php?page=widening
