Looking at buying an 04 6.0, and the 4x4 doesn't work. You flip the switch, the front shaft spins, but no power to the wheels. I'm suspecting vacuum lines? Help me with testing someone. ASAP before it sells, seems like a really good deal.

It has aftermarket rims that cover the hubs so I don't know how to check

should be a simple fix. vacuum leak, hubs not engaging because they need lubed, vacuum solenoid

if the front drive shaft is spinning it won't be an overly expensive issue. if the truck is that good of a deal buy it before it sells. hubs won't be a big deal. you have to take the hubcap off the aftermarket wheel and see the hub. its probably a factory esof hub since theyre covered. just have whoever it is take the center caps off both front wheels and turn the hubs to lock them manually. then it should work. if it works then its fine and it needs to just have a vacuum leak found or they need to be greased. like i said if its that good of a deal and your worried about it going fast just get it and deal with this after. it will be a simple fix.

Well you tell me, its a 2004 Harley edition 6.0 63k miles with every factory option possible, plus aftermarket DVD head unit, custom 8in front coil over suspension lift with traction bars, the whole nine yards, 38x15.50 mickey Thompsons, 20in rbp wheels, road armor bumper, hids. What do you think its worth

I hate big trucks with big hillbilly bumpers so I say 8k.

Seriously though it seems nice but still not studded and 10 years old. Anything under 25 seems like a good buy if it's really what you want

can you elaborate on this?

If the system defaults to defrost you are not building enough vacuum. So you got a leak or the pump has failed.

If there is no vacuum the hubs will not engage. So by turning to the heater on and it works on vent and foot you have eliminated the vacuum question and start to trouble shoot the hubs.
