Curious if anybody has information on fitting a 2008 dana 60 onto a 2001 f350. Is the 2008 housing a bit wider to compensate for the larger backspace wheels? I am installing a set of aftermarket 6" backspace wheels and would like to get rid of the stock oem dana 50 at the same time.
Thanks.

Are adding the coil buckets etc...?

Its all not just a "bolt in" job, but it is very doable. Several other parts other then just the 08 front housing though you need. And yes the 08 housing iirc is about 2in wider.

I thought I read that somewhere in time Ford changed to a "pulse" vacuum to operate the hubs. I could be wrong. Just wondering if the ESOF would work as I would like to swap axles.

I have removed the oem leaf springs and added coilovers/ radius arms a while back but now I would like to add some 6 inch backspace wheels but would have to run a 2 inch spacer. At this point going to a 08 dana 60 that is built around running the larger backspace wheel and ditching the dana 50 sounds more attractive.

You might be correct on the pulse vacuum but worst case I would have to run a manual hub and that would be fine.

Will not be running the stock coil bucket with shock and coil spring. Built a custom bucket to run a 2.5 x 8 coilover with reservoir.

Hate to F up your thread but can I get some pics and more info in your front coilover set up. Been looking at the full traction 4 link kit but it's pricey

Coilover conversion sounds interesting. Never installed one on a setup like you are doing.

Pics of the whole build would be great.
