Anybody running a trutrac in a 11 up 250 that originally had a open carrier?

Is the axle spline count still 35? If so, I'm just assuming a trutrac for a 99 up would work? TIA.

Apparently the 2011 & up Sterling rear diff was upgraded to 37 spline axles, the Dana super 60 front is still 35 spline.

Rear axle. I still only call the "super" dana 60s the ones in the 05 up F-450s and 550s.

I had read somewhere that the srw 350s went to 37spline in the rear but 250s did not in 2011.

I would assume the 2011 F250s have the 37 spline because they were available with the same e-locker that came in the srw F350s. On a Truetrac note, I know TrickTruck replaced his e-locker with a Truetrac and said he likes it better. What 2011 F250 came with an open carrier? I thought all srw's had e-lockers??

Agreed, Technically around 2002-2003 the true Super 60 housings started showing up & came with 4.30 & lower gearing, had the bigger shafts & 1550 joints & the larger 10" crown gear. That was basically only the F-450,F-550, unless it was a special order...so I'm told.
4.10 & down differentials had the bigger Super 60 housing, but with standard Dana 60 9.75" crown gear & & the smaller axle shafts. Now that being said, I just did & R&P change on my 2010 F350 & the OEM gearing was 2 cut machined & the Crown gear was 9.875" in diameter.

I think the locker dictates the spline count but I'm unsure. I have also heard that 10000 gvwr f350 and f250 have 35 spline while the 11600 have the 37s. I haven't had either apart so I don't know

I'm pretty sure big r found out that the ring gears a different from the 08 models so maybe he's got more info

Looks about right, Dug up some spec sheets for 2012 & shows rear 6200lb F-250 with 1.5" axle & 35 spline, & rear 7280lb F-350 with 1.57" axle & 37 spline.

Front axles are 35 spline

Update: The trutrac worked fine and the spline count was still 35.

Truck was 12 F-250, 6.2 gas and 2wd from the factory with a open rear. We converted it to 4wd and the buyer also wanted some type of posi or LS unit installed.
