New to this forum, but not new to the Super Duty. I have always owned gas powered super duties and I am currently in the market for a diesel powered truck to pull a 5th wheel. There are dealers in my area that still have 2014 models and the discounts are significant. Can some enlighten me on the differences between the 2014 Power Stroke and the 2015? Does it pay to go with the 2015 model years and spend a couple dollars more? Thanks

Save the coin and buy a 14. With the rebates available, it's smart. Plus, there's some cool bolt on stuff coming shortly that will retrofit over and give you everything a 15 could, and probably more.

That's just my $.02

I chose the 15. Better turbo, bigger pump, more power.
Mine will stay stock for at least 6 years.

I also read the 15 got a different torque converter in the trans, don't know if it's true or not.

So save the money only to spend it to get the same result or MAYBE a bit more?
I went with the 15 for the upgrades so I can drive it now and update it easier later. I believe they did an overhaul on the trans tuning.

Don't forget the biggest reason I myself would buy a 14 is the trans are weaker on the 15's.

You'll blow your 14 trans just as fast tuned. These aren't like the 5r110s. I'd take the better turbo, exhaust brake, better fuel pump etc.

To me if you plan on tuning these. Plan on a trans in the near future.

2015 also has new engine bearings, which prevent the bearing failure that was seen on some 2011-2014 models.

As stated, 2015 models also got the GT37 turbocharger and upgraded fuel system. If you buy a 2015 model, be sure to run 5W-40 Full Synthetic engine oil. There have been issues with the turbochargers when using regular 15W-40 oil.
