Recently picked up a new KR (CCSB)and love it. I'm going to use it as my daily driver on a 90% highway only commute.

I'd like to consistently get 20 mpg or better out of it for highway driving. Is this a pipe dream? First two tanks (each had a regen) came out at 17.3 avg.

I'm sorta concerned about voiding the warranty so am hesitant to delete the truck. Also, are there tuners out there that the dealer can't trace if I have to take it in for service? I'm thinking cai, safe tuner, and stock exhaust? Any input from you 6.7 guys would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. First complaint....I hate the 26 gallon tank they put in this thing.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Deleting will yield you better MPG if driven properly

A tuner will be needed to delete.

Tuners are traceable and will (can) void warranty. In the event of a catastrophic failure, I'm pretty sure they're going to take a close look at the computer which WILL tattle on you. Minor ****, I doubt they'll ever care to look for one. Alternatively, you can seek out a mod friendly dealer, good luck because ford can still spot check warranty claims with a mobile engineer.

10-4. If your gonna twist my arm then I'll do it.

Is it possible to delete and not have loud exhaust? Is a tuner basically worthless unless you delete?

No, you can DPF-on tune but you will be forced to REGEN more often if you use the new-found power. More regens = less MPG. Another nom-nom cake thing.

Conversely, on the deleting thing, most of the 6.7 failures are emissions related. Pick your poison, I guess...

If you want to retain the quiet after a delete then go with an exhaust that has a muffler and add a 30" resonator. I'd suggest a 4" exhaust w/ muffler and an FTE 30" resonator. I have a 5" AFE exhaust w/o muffler and the 30" FTE resonator and love the way it sounds. A noticeable rumble but not over the top and super quiet under acceleration. I've read you only need larger than 4" if you want to go above 600whp or so. Hope this helps

You're getting pretty decent mileage right now IMO. You may try airing up the tires to 75-80psi if you haven't already. Other than that.........a tuner may help, but not much.

Installing a delete pipe and SCT X-4 will greatly help your mileage and both items can be uninstalled if you have any issues
