2017 SD W/ 2015+ F-150 Front Clip?

Since the 2017 SD and the F-150 cab look very similar shouldn't it require very little modification to fit?

Just a thought that popped in my head.

What you guys think?

You would think so. I really loved the rendering someone did with the raptor front end on that plat 450. Who knows

That's what I was thinking of the raptor front end I loved that rendering also, it just matches LOL.

I don't think it will be wide enough to swap parts over. However I see the aftermarket jumping on that right away.

cab is identical... frame is obviously different. coolers, etc. etc. but cab is same/same

the real question is will a 6.7 fit in a 150?

That guy on another thread here said he was working on the tooling for the cabs at an assembly plant and they differ from the 150?

damn... I could see the floorpan/firewall being different. interior layout/doors/etc. are the same so they don't have to make two aluminum trucks

Been looking at getting a new truck its between 16 and a 17, I want to wait on a 17 but IMO the front end is .... ______ LOL but on the other side is the new cab, more power etc etc so I'm debating.

the 17's are going to be dope, but the current trucks are the last of the true super duty trucks IMO... The new ones aren't going to be quite as big. Not as much shoulder room, etc.

But... with the F150 cab, they'll have more rear leg room. And the tech stuff is about to go off the charts with the new trucks

I do like the look. But the cabs seem smaller than the current ones. Which is a big #fartnoise# as far as Im concerned..

I sat in a 17 a few weeks ago and it had tons of features and big can space like the current sd

2017 is no smaller inside or outside, it simply appears that way since it shares a very similar body style to the half-ton. It is, IMO, slighly less cramped in the center console area than the current builds.

Despite some of the negativity, the aluminium is a serious upgrade. I can personally say its more dent resistant, more rigid (pull on the door of a 2015 super duty, and watch the sheet metal at the door hinges. Then do the same on an aluminum F150) and has massive improvements in NVH (noise/vibration/harshness) as the aluminum is a sponge for vibrations and annoying squeaks/rattles.
