I am new to this forum. Yes I know search search search. But I only have 2gb of data month and don't want to waist it all just for a few questions. First off I have a 1997 f 250 ccsb 4x4 with the auto trans. I plan on doing a d60 swap, and a manual transmission swap. I have found that a 6 inch lift without blocks is very expensive for these trucks and very few to choose from. I want to go as high as possible and still be street legal. I am in wv, I'd the lift laws but this is only my 2nd project truck and I only did a leveling kit on the first one. I am wanting to run a 36 15.50 on 20x14s will this be possible on 4 inches of lift or will I need to go 6? Once again this is with the d60 swap. I have never drove a obs with the 5 speed I have a 2006 6.0 and the auto trans shifts soo smooth, my obs shifts soo freaking hard and it seems like my trans is really holding back power that I have, anyone ever do a 6 speed sd swap? And one last thing what tuner would you all recommend for these trucks. I do very little towing with the obs, that's what my 6.0 is for. This is just a Sunday driver.

I have a 08 F250 and I looked at getting 20x14 with 36x15.50 and I needed at LEAST a 6 inch lift. The newer trucks have bigger wheel wells than the older ones. I'd say you would need a 8" at least and maybe even a 10"..... but I'm not for sure as I've never owned one, but I'm going off what I know about the trucks in general.

On my sisters OBS, we put a 4" on it when it was a TTB truck. Swapped out a D60 and used the same springs. And ended up putting 20x12's and 36x15.50 ATZ's on it. It rubbed some, but not terrible, needed just a couple more inches. It looked good though. Those tires and wheels are gone now, and she's back to a 16x10 and 35x12.50.
