Just saw the 2011 Ford Ranger (Australia) with a 3.2 / 2.2 Diesel engine. I didn't even know they had em. Did Ford not discontinue the ranger for 2012 in Canada US? Also, a 2.7 for 2013 in there SUV s?

I love how you get the model with no truck bed so you can put your Aussie wooden flat bed on there lol :)

Because Europe and other countries are always way ahead in vehicle technology then we are. . . . Can anyone confirm that they are no longer making the ranger in North America? I wouldn't cry if they threw a Diesel engine into an F-150. I guess there is a better market for gasoline in this part of the world?

We want to be just like Europe, except we prefer our emissions to be more stringent. The EPA is what kills small diesel's here.

On emissions, australia we're more stringent than i'd imagine. I dont know about europe, we have california and new york but a lot of our country doesnt have too much emissions hassle

This ^^ You are not going to see small diesels here much because of this. The other thing honestly is practicality.

There is not enough profit margin on the few they could sell. Not many people want to pay an extra 4K for a little diesel. Then have to deal with urea, .50-$1.00 more for fuel, and expensive repairs they dont usually understand down the road.

Also, the Ranger is done in the US. All other countries get many variants of makes and models that we never see. Its all for various different reasons.

I also read places that a lot of the vehicles sold oversea's, take South America for instance, wouldnt even come close to passing safety ratings. So they would have to go over the model and make it safe, then go over the engine to make it complient, all at the expense of the consumer. As it gets more expensive, the less likely it is going to sell. Plus with new gas engine tech (direct injection, VVT, ect) they are becoming pretty darn fuel efficient.
