Anyone ever mount a Toyo Proxes S/T 305-50-20 on a set of the factory polished wheels?

Pics?

Tires are listed for 8.5" and wider, and if I'm measuring right these are 8" (between the beads, not overall).

Also, looks like Nitto has the same size tire in the NT420S, and preferences or reasons to go one way or the other?

This is for a my daily driver, 2WD. The truck rarely sees the trailer and pretty much lives on the highway at 70mph. We don't do tire and wheel work, so this stuff is outside of our expertise.

Thanks!

Not sure if this helps you any but i got two buddies running 305/55/20 terra grapplers and ones running that same size in toyo AT2 on factory 8in Ford 20s. Not sure about Nitto but Toyo recommends a 8.5in minimum wheel width for that tire! They look really good wish i had a pic for you! However thats not 305/50

This is 305/55 on factory wheels unless Nitto recently launched more sizes for 20in wheels.

I noticed that 8.5" minimum, which is why I asked. I may have to go down to the 275-55-20, which has an 7.5" minimum and is about the same height.

that's the first set of colored factory 8 spokes Ive seen-- I really wanted to do some in that dark argent/anthracite color. For my truck, glad I polished them.

275-55 is the next step narrower that is close to the same diameter. There are other options, but they are either taller or shorter.

I ran a 37x13.50 on a stock rim for a while. You'll be fine, they'll mount.

In looking around, it looks like the Nitto 420S has a better reputation/more recommendations. I think I'm going to drop down to the 275-55-20 in the 420S and call it done for now.

Discount told me that the 420S is being discontinued and replaced with the 421Q. Not even a remotely similar tread pattern. Anyone else hear this?

I went with the 275-55-20s...see attached. Looks soooooo much better with these wheels, the stock 18" wheels are just about the fugliest stock wheel ever!

Now to get it lowered.

That does look nice Dennis, dropping the back with a shackle would help a bunch. Not sure it needs the whole drop kit.
