4.5 Hanger lift

Anyone out there have a 4.5 hager lift with 35's?
Looking to see some pics and how do you like it.

I have a Icon 4.5" hanger lift but i have it coupled with a 1.5" add a leaf also
The icon kit is very well made, and its easy to install in the driveway.
The ride quality is very good since you use the stock springs, mine would be even better without the add a leaf but its still not bad at all!
I also have 35's

PWRstroke smoke,thanks for the good pics. Did the pan rod come with the kit? What about the bash bar,when is that needed? What do you have in the rear? Im looking for good smooth ride. So you have 6" of lift...how is the clearance ? Any rubbing?

The adjustable pan rod bar is not part of the basic kit, its extra but i highly recommend it, its not necessary but does a better job of keeping the front axle tracking perfectly straight and in line, I would run it with 35's and up.
The bash bar is also an option, the stock one is riveted to the old stock hangers, its pretty much there to keep us from running over the little imports in case of a rear end collision.
The one that is an option with the kit mounts between the hangers and is a little lower to compensate for the lift. I think its required in some states for liability reasons, not sure though?
I have a block in the rear right now but will be adding one up offroad traction bar/block system this summer.
Clearance is good and I have zero rubbing issues there is plenty of room for 35's
The bilstein shock are what really make the ride smooth, I have never seen one negative about the icon 4.5" hangers, they are the base for their bigger lift kits too.
I think the ride quality is very smooth for a lifted truck.
There are several good vendors that offer good prices on icon stuff and free shipping on full kits too, trucktoyzperformance, and polyperformance

So your truck now that's in the pics...is it 6" total lift?
Did it rub before the front add a leaf was added with only the shackle lift?
Have you looked at the PMF traction bar/block system?
I think if I do go with the 4.5 Icon I will do the Pan rod also.... but need to look into the bash bar.

Yes its 6" total
I had the 1.5" add a leaf on first, with the 35" tires and it barely rubbed on the front and only on turns with a bump or dip at the same time and it would rub, so with just the 4.5" hanger you should be just fine.
Yes I just saw their stuff a couple weeks ago, and i really like their track bars and the price, im leaning more towards their setup plus they are a vendor on this site!
I dont have the bash bar right now.

Not only does the bash bar add impact protection, but is also links the hangers together making for a more solid component. The hanger lift brackets increase the lateral leverage put on them from the leafs.

Reconsider the purchase of a floating design traction bar. If you do not venture off road, you should be fine, but the design does not work as well as a single bar with poly bushings at either end (OUO) for off road applications.

IMO a adj track bar and the bash bar are required for the 4.5" hanger kit, its the only way I will sell the Icon kit.
Off road or street a PMF traction bar kit is the best as it lets the rear axle move in a arch as it needs to..plus stops the Pinion from raising from Tq. Off roaders have been using the same basic design for years..ie shackle on the frame.

Ok guys how about a 6" hanger kit anyone seen this before? 4.5 might not be enough.

Our best selling shackle and hanger kit is the 6" version. We have them available in 2", 3", 4", 5", and 6" version. Like Cary said, you definitely want a bash bar on anything 4" and above.

Trevor, is the new track bar a necessity with th 6" shac? Or is there a bracket to correct with the stock one?

You will actually have to run a drop trackbar bracket aswell as an adjustable trackbar with a 6" kit. The drop trackbar bracket and pitman arm setups allow for 4" of drop. So if a 4" shackle and hanger lift was run, all you would need is the drop trackbar/pitman. If a 6" lift is used, you will want to add an adjustable trackbar or else the axle will be shifted to the drivers side by 1/2" and it will put your springs in somewhat of a bind with the trackbar.
