As many of you know I've been chasing a puking issue with my studded 6blow. Long story short I used a 5 gas analyzer from work today and picked up 20ppm carbon monoxide in the degas jug. Safe for me to go ahead and say they're blown the *** out?

Not necessarily. Sample a bottle of clean unused coolant as a control.

If you have a pressure gauge you can put in line to the bottle on a 3/8" T, with the engine at full operating temp, carefully release the system pressure so the gauge reads 0psi. Go for a spirited drive, if pressure rises rapidly, you've got compression entering the cooling system.

Combustion gas detectors don't seem to work very well on diesels, at least it wasn't able to detect very blown gaskets on my 6.0.

Thanks, I've done the T and pressure raises rapidly. I've been using block testers and it always passes that test. No white smoke on start up. I was thinking it might be flash boiling somewhere. Coolant temps go up quick when I get on it.
