I got a 6.0, I'm needing some tunes so I can get rid of the turbo lag. What are some good tunes for a 6.0 with headbolts. I'm new to the 6.0 and I'm use to the 7.3.

You can't go wrong with the SRL tune from Matt@Gearhead. Ive ran Elites and Innovative's tunes and for daily driving the SRL is the best IMO. But i have heard good things about TSD tunes as well.

Matt makes some great tunes but I still like Innovative's the best. I just like the firm shifts, it seems to hold a gear a little longer than Matt's and has a little more go off the line. However, it is a bit more smoky that Matt's...

By the way, the lag will still be pretty bad with tunes IF you just stab the throttle off the line. It will build more quickly if you roll into it.

Gearhead tunes FTMFW! I absolutely love my gearhead tunes I have! And Matt is a good dude who will take the time to call you to make sure the tune is everything you want! I was very impressed with Matt and Gearhead!

+1 for Matt's tunes

no matter what, custome tunes are what the 6.0s need and do great things for you and your truck. Get it tuned to your style of driving, your trucks setup etc..gearhead, vivian, IDP, RCD, theyre all great..just call em up and get it goin! :toast:

The truck spools better when I roll in to the throttle. I will have to get some tunes? Can I buy a sct tuner with custom tunes already loaded on it?

Just got my remote ficm tuner from PHP. Made my truck a monster on the bottom end compared to before.

If your truck is studded, which I believe your original post asked for studded tunes, I would go with Matt's SRL+ or the Super Panty Dropper from Truck Source Diesel. I wanted to order tunes from TSD, but they are so overloaded with emails, that it was hard to get a hold of anybody. From what I understand, they arent going to be doing email tunes for new customers anymore. This is because they like to do live tuning, which if you have every done a live tune before, you would understand why.

Like everybody has said above, any tune your going to get from one of these reputable vendors, is going to knock your socks off. Plan on going through your first few tanks a fuel QUICKLY, and finding excuses to go places and drive. :evil

HOOV3R... did you have to rewrite your tune for the FICM? I havent been able to do much research on the tuned FICMs yet.

No all my tunes still work. I might look into getting some new ones wrote now to go with the FICM tunes.

The FICM has final say in what the injectors get, even if the ecm tuning is calling for crazy pw. The ficm has limiting restrictors in the tuning, these will only allow so much pw to be sent to the injectors.

FICM tuning is just allowing the ecm tuning to be maximized, no need for retuning.

I run a modified Super Panty Dropper with the Atlas80 FICM tune from PHP and love that combo. The truck spools twice as fast as stock even if you just put the skinny pedal to the floor from a dead stop. The FICM tuning requires absolutely NO revision to your current ECM tunes. You can however contact your tuner and notify them that you have had your FICM tuned to eliminate fuel restrictions. They can adjust accordingly and find a little more power. Chris at TSD got me more mid and high RPM pull with some revisions to my original SPD tune after my FICM was tuned. I have a new SPD tune waiting for SCT to send my Livewire back so I can try it out and maybe have even better throttle response and power (as hard as that is to believe).

Pizzapig, thanks a bunch. That was my thought process, but I wasnt sure. I emailed Matt at gearhead, to get his input on how it would affect the file he wrote me. If I end up ordering the FICM tune, and I will email Matt, and see if he can tweak the tune a little bit, getting me a little more UMPH. More bottom end spool would be killer.
