6.4 auto to zf6

I have a fully loaded 2008 lariat in the process of a transmission swap and need help understanding the engine computer part number differences. what engine ecm would work. seeing that my current ecm is an auto what electronically needs to be flashed. i am also looking for information about deleting the transmission computer and what harnesses are needed to complete the swap any help would be greatly appreciated :fustrate: thanks in advance

I think you just need to have the engine computer to be flashed to that of a manual computer. I don't think you physically need to swap the computer it's self.

Also subbing, I was considering this my self to do to my truck

I'm fairly certain they will accept the same software. The problem lies in when flashing the software to the PCM with IDS, the software will ask for the VIN, then download the ASBUILT for that VIN from the master database. I haven't tried to blank path an automatic PCM to manual, but I suspect it will give you a software incompatibility error, unless you manually download the asbuilt and modify it accordingly.

i got a nother question i got a automatic t-case where will the vss signal come from there is two connectors on the t-case one on the electric motor itself and a 6 pin above the housing of the motor is this possiby a speed sensor and a position sensor there is only one sensor on the zf6 that is reverse.????

IF i can supply my vin can anyone modify the as-built data for me to be configured as a manual seeing that they did not offer a lariat with a manual trans. that is all i need to get this truck running. thanks

He had a cut CAN wire which caused a minor problem. It's his current daily driver right now. He doesn't get on the forums very much.

It appears to me that I may have the same problem ford cannot communicate with my truck at all. Any help would be appreciated thanks
