I suck at this painting small items and totally screwed up my fender vents. Any who, I need some new ones or someone who has some painted already. What is the trick to this?

Painted mine months a few months back. Sanded down the chrome with some 320 grit paper. Primed with self etching primer. Used a one stage imron gloss black paint. For the red mesh part I didn't sand at all. Used a plastic adhesive promoter and used the same imron paint. Turned out great.

I didn't even paint mine.. Wiped down with acetone if I remember right (just light cleaning) let dry and sprayed with plastidip incase I wanted to change up later. Stuck amazing! This year will second winter, many many washes and its not peeling yet. Easy to touch up, easy to change up colors later and just east to do period. Wouldn't do it on bumpers or front grills so if ur matching all that go full paint.

I got some plasti dip yesterday to do my vents this weekend. I am going to use krylon fusion to paint the plastic vent parts. I am going the plasti dip route just in case I screw up, I can peel it off and start over.

I did plasti dip on mine. Worked okay until it either peels or bubbles from using a pressure washer when washing it. I wanted mine gloss black to match everything else so I painted them. Btw the plasti dip just peeled right off when I went to paint them

I wanted to reprint mine after screwing up. I got aircraft stripper. sprayed it on, it made the paint hump up, wiped EVERYTHING off with a rag. including the small writing

I just use a scotchbrite pad and clean it off with a degreaser, I use simple green.
Spray off with water, then air compressor, then spray.
