I have my 2008 Job 2 F-350 6.4 CCSB DRW It has 78,000 miles.

Here's a list of stuff that was replaced since I bought it brandnew

I bought it brand new from the local Ford dealership in AUG of 0'8

At 1,500 miles ford changed the the entire engine harness PCM/TCM.

At 2,500 miles replaced engine harness PCM/TCM again.

At 32,000 miles Serpentine belt shredded. (bad tensioner)

At 42,000 miles truck caught bad fuel ford replaced HPFP injectors lines fuel cooler fuel cooler rad etc.

At 52,000 miles PCM/TCM fried again replaced.

At 54,000 miles trans blew.

At 68,000 miles front driver side caliper locked up

Now the serpentine is shredding again. (78,000 miles)

Other than that truck been good oil filter (royal purple or Mobil syn) motorcraft filter and fuel filter changes every 5,000 miles.

this is the 2nd out of 3 6.4's i've owned .

How long will this engine last? i've seen 6.4's go to 125K and some don't last past 80K.

What's your guys opinion on this?

Please reply voice your opinion on this subject.

Sounds luck some **** luck with the harness/PCM stuff... but I'll come out and ask the obvisous question. Is it fully deleted? With the proper maintaince done, all the emissions crap gone and not running some huge HP tuning they are a great engine/truck in basically stock form. By maintaince I not only meaning changing engine oil every 5k, fuel every 10k and all the basic stuff ect... I mean servicing stuff like tranny/front and rear diffs/flushing coolant, treating fuel every tank and so on and so forth. Putting in the extra effort and doing the stuff most people over look or dont think is important. If you bought your truck in late 08 and only have 78k miles, if you do the things mentioned above the truck will last you forever.

As always, you can shell out some more cash and upgrade some other part to extend engine life. But for any 6.4 owner, espically one in mostly stock form, maintaince and keeping up with it is HUGE.

I hate to hear about the luck your having! Mine rolled 192k a couple weeks ago, and it'll hit 194k today on the way home. It's been tuned and deleted since 134k. Haven't had any problems other than a radiator at 145k

Well thats good your deleted already. For what it's worth too, my original engine last 176k miles with out any issues what so ever. Only reason I replaced it was because I wanted to do more stuff with the truck and needed to upgrade some things anyway and didnt want to start breaking parts on a perfectly good running stock engine.

The 3rd one has 62k on it and its never had an issue other than the dual climate control taking a chit 3times

I bought it used with 134k. Nothing on the oasis. Cab has never been up on it. Been very lucky so far. I drive it pretty easy, but I like to feel the HP from time to time. And it tows heavy often

I've had 2 job 1's pristine service one was traded with 130k and the 2nd was a build of December of '06 beat the crap out of both great trucks both of them constant towing and I traded it with 164k on it still running with a tensioner broke and no a.c. But I too have heard horror stories. Loved both mine.

Yup loved all 3 of my 6.4's wish I still had my F-450 though. That was the best truck. But in Hawaii the charge a ton of $ for commercial insurance and REG. If it wasn't for that I would still have it. 4.10 gears ECSB flatbed XLT first 6.4 in the whole state of Hawaii.
