6.4 oil change etc.

Just back off vacation and going to do a full fluid change on my 08 6.4. Been a long time since I did any work on 6.4s so I don't remember much about it. Going to change engine oil and filter, trans oil and filter, transfercase and diff oils, and fuel filters. How much oil will I need and any other advice would be appreciated. Truck has 80K kms on it now. :jammin:

Motorcraft brand oil and fuel filters only

15 qts of oil

Trans use ONLY MERCON SP or MERCON LV. A complete change takes about 18 quarts

:whs: id keep the oil changed in a 6.4 about every 3500 miles if its stock. Regen is a BI*CH on them. as far as Diff fluid goes, Use a good brand. Ive only used the motorcraft diff fluid and the bottle of friction modifier.I know Amsoil's severe gear is good as well.

Probably going to be all Motorcraft stuff except the diff oils and transfercase oil.

Sorry to hi Jack...I'm about to do trans fluid and filter, do you use any sealer or silicone on the trans pan?

stay away from non synthetic rotella, had it in my truck for less than 200 miles, oil temp with it was higher new than my old broke dwn fomoco stuff

Just got around to changing the engine oil today. Truck has been parked since I got back from vacation. The oil had right around 8000km on it and was very black. I used motorcraft 10w30 and filter. Going to do the trans next week. Got to get ready to drive out and go moose hunting. :redspotdance:
