6.5 components in the rear door??

Anyone install speakers in the rear door of a '08 and up Crew cab? I know it would be a custom job..just wondering if it's worth the effort.

Any better all around sound or is it still acting like filler?

I have an extra pair of JL C5-650 components.

how do you purpose getting the sound out? Iirc the rear doors don't have any sound cut outs in the plastic at all. Or are you just mounting on top? I know if you just get some good 5×7s (once again iirc) and an amp to drive them you'll be set

You would have to make a speaker box in the recess that allows for storage. I have 5 x 7 in the stock location behind the seat acting as fill. Just wondering if anyone built something for the door to enhance sound.

Actually now that I think about it didn't the Excusions have rear door speakers? I know you wouldn't want to swap panels probably. But the doors have to be close to the same. I think the cubby in the rear door of the 08+ is going to mess you up
