I just want this to be here also. I just went on a stroll of the "I wish we were real Confederates" site. I would like to break a few things down for the people that don't know what kind of fail this really is. Item 1, equipment $80 drill press $30 bench grinder from harbor freight Welding table appears to be one of the $150 ebay units The only nice thing in this photo is the miller diversionTIG behind the guy welding. Keep all this in mind as we get to the next few photos Item 2, execution Just have a look at this custom Ujoint shield......pretty welds aren't they? And they didnt even take the time to get the angle half correct on it. Item 3, we have no idea what we are doing. Now take a look at this pedestal....take a good look. The welds are inconsistent, the holes have been drilled without leaving enough material for support around the radius of the hole. And I would bet money the thing was never surfaced after it was welded....probably seals like a dream. Item 4, misrepresentation Now we have these two images pulled off their FB page. Does anyone really think they are capable of building this with what was show in the prior posts? Seriously, who's kit did they put on and claim to have built? Item 5, in experience This image, it tells quite a bit about their capability when the mechanics don't even know which end of the steering shaft is supposed to be removed to pull the cab. For the future, do know that these forums have members that are professional and advanced amateur fabricators. We can spot bullchit excuses, what you done to that truck was not "hurried" it was a sheer lack of knowledge. Best I can guess is that none of you have much formal training, hardly any apprenticeship time, or worse, you went to some trade school and think you know everything. One thing is certain, you will be out of business sooner than you think.
