I've got a few coolant questions for 6.7's. What is the recommended interval? I recall something about testing it and adding an additive or something. When is that recommended? When do you reset the light, when you put in the additive or when you change it? Lastly is the coolant light just set for mileage or is there a sensor in the coolant system? Thanks in advance, sorry for all the stupid questions.

The message center is programmed to display "Check Coolant Additive" after a certain amount of time, mileage, or engine hours. Technically, you're supposed to check the chemical properties of the coolant, (with a kit Ford sells). Depending on the coolant condition, you may need to add a coolant additive or flush the system. Personally, I've never checked my coolant additive... I just drain and fill both cooling systems every 30,000 miles or so.

Cool, thanks. I guess I'm about half way there then.
