I just bought a 2011 with 65,000 miles on it. Since it no longer has a warranty I am thinking about getting rid of the nonsense. I have been through all the headaches with my 6.0 so I would really like this truck to be decently fast but mostly reliable. What are the most common issues associated with delea ts and tuning? What pros also? I'm currently getting about 11.7mpg average which is actually worse then my 6.0 got.

Pros: Better MPG, no more soot buildup from the EGR, 100lbs of weight loss, sounds like a diesel again, no more DEF fluid to worry about.

Cons: Can't think of any? I know the '11 had turbo issues. If you have the money and want reliability, look into a 2015+ turbo swap, along with HPFP. Do that and it'll be problem free!

11.7 seems low. Lots of pros- fuel mileage increase, no more regens, no more DEF, more power, better throttle response, much better sound.
The 11 turbos can fail in stock form. ******d turbo failures happened a lot more when the earlier tunes had boost way up in the 30+ area.

OK I'm going to start saving the pennies for a ****** kit. From.what I have read h&s is still the top pick for tuning?

For an 11-14, I wouldn't go with anything BUT H&S. Loved the Mini Maxx and MCC tuning ability on my 2012. Seriously look at your turbo though... I've had buddies go through 2 stock '11 turbo's in 30k miles after d3leting, the insane drive pressures of that twin scroll makes it a "when" not "if"... I know it's a lot of money... but you're outside warranty so "when" if goes... you're going to be buying a new turbo anyways...

11.wtfever mpg? One of three things is going on here, IMO. 1-You drive like an idiot (I'm guilty of thins and get 15 or so in town...13-14 before diet.) 2-big friggin lift & tires. 3-something is wrong.
Hope I'm wrong on item three, but way too many people I trust got better mpg in the 11-14 trucks than they do in their 15s, and none get as low as you are reporting.
To answer your original question...put her on a diet. Call Bigrpowr for the diet plan.

The truck is lifted 6" on 37s. I'm going to wait and hand calculate It at next fill up and see if it's different then the dash.

One thing I've seen people complain about is a strong smell... Maybe diesel, exhaust or burnt oil smell coming from the ccv line. Not sure I'm still stock, maybe someone else can chime in on this issue?

I get 14.5 all city leveled with 35's. Also to answer the guy talking about smell and CCV stuff, yes, it will smell strong in contrast to a dpeff equipped truck. And the blow-by from a CCV d3lete is substantial, so keep that in mind. But if you're leaving the stock intake piping and CCV system, no need to worry.

MPG really drops as you speed up on these things. In my 6.4 I can get 18-20 going 60 or less but at 80+ I get closer to 15-16. They go through the air about like a brick wall lol. If you slowed down to 70 I'd bet that would go up a couple points.
