Just happened by chance on July 3rd, but yesterday, i helped my buddy remove his cab and bed on his 1997 F-250 he rolled almost a year ago. Haven't seen much about obs cab removal, so figured id post some pics, and if anyone has questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

I'm planning to remove my cab and fix some sheet metal that I destroyed trying to get my irate down pipe installed. I also want to spray on some lizard skin or something to help with the road noise.

How long did it take? It really don't look too bad. Anything special to look out for?

Only took a few hours (i wasn't watching the clock). Keep in mind you will need to suck the a/c down, or be prepared to do it the other, non friendly way. There wasn't anything "special". If you have worked on fords before, you should be fine. The can cant weigh that much, it didn't even make the body of my service truck roll any. Id say a few hundred pounds at most.

Don't forget the ground strap when you lift it otherwise it's straight forward, done many.

I have pulled a few to replace the motor, it's so much easier than pulling it out the hood to me.

I've never changed an obs motor, but done close to 100 super duty 7.3's and 6.0's, and I disagree, but to eachbtheir own. I have small hands/arms, so i can get to hard to reach places easily.

I used to...i was putting a coolant filter on my 7.3 tonight and i cant hardly get my damn hands in there far enough to reach the pump from up top.

Nope....its got new rear 3klb springs on a 3 1/2" block front is on a leveling spring pack rated at 3k lbs. Sits an inch higher outback. The 35s arent even filling the wheelwells. Its much better now without the liftkit but still large.

I see. I always enjoyed when i would get to work on a 2 wheel drive truck, which was rare, but nice, because i could do alot of the work standing on the ground instead of contorting under the hood. I absolutely hated when i had to work on a lifted truck.
