Just started tearing down the block I was planning on building to find a piston that had let go and cylinder wall has a whole in it from the rod. Would it be possible to sleeve it or should I find a new block?

The early obs front covers didn't have a drain back valve. I'd get a new block

Piston failed, bent rod, and rod rubbed a hole in the cylinder wall. Found another block to build. Going to need a good forged rod and 3 injector cores.

I would say if the rod just rubbed a hold in the cylinder, I would have the block checked for cracks and have it sleeved. There is nothing wrong with sleeving a engine if it is done right.
