Only downfall I seen was in the summer the a/c wasn't as cool blowing about 45deg instead of 38, so i disconnected the vacuum line for the heater valve and capped the line till heat was needed.A ford tech told me it probably drives the computer crazy trying to adjust things for temp control by not being able to read fan speeds. But the benefits of steady temps are great. Never got above 205 ever. It did stick once while pulling a trailer for about 300 miles and that was annoying.
