Ok, well I got what needed to be buttoned up today to try and get it to run. Truck turns over nice and strong, and I know it will take a while to build pressure after having everything apart. My question is do I need to add oil straight to the high pressure oil res to help in getting this thing started. I have proper amount of oil in truck but still not getting a drop of oil to the high pressure res. Maybe I have not tried enough just wanted to see if I am on the right path. Really need to get this thing on the road Saturday.

If you are cranking and the reservoir isn't filling up, there is an issue either getting oil up there, or it draining somewhere\how its shouldn't be.

Do you happen to have a scan gauge? Seeing ICP would be helpful, along with a mechanical oil gauge to see what is actually going on.

When the whole systems have been down it eases the starting process filling the hpop res and the rails. IMO.

If it starts and then doesn't refill you may have another problem.

I do have a scanner I can use tomorrow. Also I do have a low pressure oil gauge on it and as for right now it isn't registering anything while cranking it over. I know for a fact there is zero oil in the res as of right now. I know when I was putting this engine together I had drained every bit of oil out of the oil rails and such. Just wasn't sure how long it would take to get all the oil rails and such to prime back up with started on it. I know when I have changed injectors in the past it would take a bit of cranking but just wanted to see if I needed to purge air out of the high press system or not. I plan on adding some oil to the res. tomorrow and go from there. I just want to here this thing run!

Got ya, well I will get some more oil and try filling up the res and going from there. I put a new melling on it so I should be good to go there. Thanks

Just went back and took a peak at the video from when we started the motor the first time after it was rebuilt and we put it together. It took 27 seconds of cranking to get the truck to fire off.

yeah, filled it a couple times and got it to run. But ran like it wasn't getting fuel. And then of course batteries ran out on me before I found out fuel filter was dry. Got filter topped off and batteries are charging for a couple hours. Had a knocking sound while running but I am 99% sure that was due to no fuel pressure. At least I am hoping. I know this engine ran damn good before I got it so will just have to wait for batts. Thanks guys
