7.3 powerstroke build

So yesterday I went ahead and pulled my 7.3 and put her on the stand, time to re seal the whole
Motor and build it aswell , not looking for anything too crazy , gonna be doing arp head bolts and gaskets , bigger turbo , injectors , fass 150 pumps, etc.. I'm looking for some Tips on a good turbo and injector setup to make close to 500wrhp , any info and tips will help !

238/100 with a 38r would probably be the best route for you.

I love my 238/100 and my billet 366 t4.. Im looking into the s369 now but my setup spools stupid fast ive never been under the turbo its one hell of a fun setup but i also know im pushing the limit with the s366..

Go T4 for legitimate 500RWHP that you can actually use. The drop in turbos still leave a lot to be desired at that power level. The 366SX-E or the 369SX-E would both be plenty of turbo wit fast spool up and the t4 mount will have bellowed up pipes, and intercooler pipes that fit correctly and flow better. The standard 366 was a John Deere turbo that was a cheap way to get into the T4, now since the SX-E series I have not sold a standard 366! The SXE series have been proven to work great and last at over 500RWHP wit he standard 360* thrust and billet wheel.

Also, a standard OBS fuel system would be a better choice for fuel systems for the OBS 7.3L. It will allow the use of both tanks and comes with the regulated return that is needed to ****** the bowl.

This is excellent advice!
I hope you aren't planning to change headgaskets. If they aren't leaking, change out the head studs one at a time, and keep the original gaskets.
If you can get livetuning easily, I'd go right to a 200% nozzle. Otherwise, a 80 or 100% nozzle is pretty easy to tune.

To add to the good advice already given in this thread, definitely go t4 looking for that kind of power. Irate is an awesome company to deal with I just finished my s369 install on my OBS last week and I can't get enough of it. I built my motor last year and ran a d66 with 238/100 injectors and it made 508 horsepower but it was very laggy and smokey setup that got really hot egt. I knew the d66 wouldn't live long under those conditions and I regret not doing the t4 from the start. The s369 spools up amazingly fast, way faster than the d66 and is making over 50 psi of boost on the top end. The truck is making really good power I'm going to dyno it within a few weeks

I'm doing Arp studs but wasn't sure about that stuff. And need some more advice on which is the best direction to go with for the fuel system

You should definetly do push rods and valve springs at the power level your looking at comp 910s are most common and are reasonably priced I put smith brothers push rods in mine. Irate also makes a complete obs fuel system with a single Walbro pump I run it in my truck as well it's a really nice kit everything you need. You can check it out on there website or just give them a call they are very helpful.

Ok I added 910s and pushrods to the list now , and valve seats aswell , will be getting the heads machined true and springs and seats installed at the same time. Also going to order a full engine gasket kit just because it's already out and on the stand so might aswell with all the work I'm doing , so I'm thinking the s366 kit with the t4 mount and bellowed up pipes and what not , with 238/100s , the OBS fuel system that Irate diesel has on their site that you mentioned , arp head studs , felpro gaskets all around , and live tuning.

If you are going that far, I'd consider going thru the bottom end, as well.

Sounds like you have a good plan, I will say the standard 366 will work but the 366SXE or even the 364.5 SXE will out flow the standard one. But that could always be changed in the future if the funds are tight now! Let me know if you have any questions, you can also email me [email protected].

I would recommend the competition valve springs from Irate. I broke some rocker arms with the 910's. The 910's coil bind really easy, the beehive springs are worth the piece of mind.
