95 7.3 tranny swap

so i blew up my tranny in my 95 7.3 5 spd and i have an old 1990 idi 7.3 5 spd i heard they should bolt up together on the housing however the flywheel and clutch is different? anyone have some info on this and if its worth trying or just getting it rebuilt? thanks!

It will work, just keep the flywheel and clutch bolted up to the block and swap the trans. Only issue is the older trans is rated for less power.
