I am in the middle of replacing both fuel tanks on my 95 F350
I had a hell of a time getting the pushloc connectors apart on the sending units.... I finally got them apart ... but I am not crazy about them in the first place...

My question: Do you see any problem with me replacing the pushloc line with a Tygon line and fuel injection clamps? McMaster Carr has Tygon F-4040-A which is supposed to be diesel safe.

I was also looking at the steel lines coming off the fuel pump (hope I have the terminology right) down the front of the engine then back to the drivers frame rail.... This line looks to be very very rusty... There are also pushloc connectors there... under the engine.... but lord knows how I would get my meathook hands in there to get them released..... I'd like to eliminated all that and run tygon all the way to the dual tank switch... maybe protect the tygon with some heater hose in any place it would get hot...

BTW,
my sending units were rusty (the lines coming out of the top) I sent them to tristar radiator to be rebuilt... (soldering in new lines.)

thanks for any input... and sorry if this has been covered before... I have been driving myself nuts searching threads and the web for info. it's all a blurr... :cursing:

anyone know what type of hose this is..? That Ford uses with the crimp clamps? ( they actually look similar to the sharkbite Pex tubing crimp clamps)

ford goes from steel line, to braided steel line with pushlocs.. back to steel line... to rubber line... back to steel line back to braided steel line... :lame:

looking at the rust and living conditions of your fuel lines I say they have done just as well as can be expected in such an environment ?

I use that tygon on My pwc's I don't think I would have it on an Automobile
since you can cut it with just a little more than a butter knife

the stuff is great it hasn't gone hard like the other stuff I tried and you can see fuel flow

by the time you " sleeved " it I think you'd be better off finding a tougher fuel line
