So a buddy of mine wants to buy my built motor and put it in his e99. I was wondering if the engine harness will plug into the main harness or if we have use his e99 engine harness. Also I have a ts chip with gearheads tunes, can we use that in his e99 or does he need to have his chip sent out? They are both zf trucks but I didn't know since the pcm codes are probably different whether we could use it our not.

Use his harness and PCM. Have the ts sent back to gearhead and tell him what is going on and he can burn the chip for the e99. And depending on which turbo he runs it may need some components swapped as well.

Anyone else with some insight on this. We would rather use the harness from my motor if possible because he was chasing some problems and if we could eliminate his engine harness with the swap we'd like to. If the main plug for the harness is the same I should be able to keep that harness on the 95 motor correct? The motor going in has 250/100's and t4 setup with all the supporting mods and the chip will be re burned for his pcm so nothing to worry about as far as single v split shot injectors. Just thinking out loud here I know the accessory brackets will have to be swapped no big deal there.

If you need a SD engine harness let me know, i hope to pull the engine out of my 99 and start getting it ready for my 97 so i'll be selling all the SD specific stuff.

Sounds good I'm going to go through his first and if I find anything suspicious I'll get a hold of you. If all wires look good I'm just going to run it.

He was having problems blowing out hpops, first his stealth seized and failed, then blew the back off two t-500's and the third t-500 didn't blow the back out but wouldn't make any pressure. This happens in about 2 mins after installing a pump

When we had the mechanical gauge hooked up and didn't read any pressure I took it off and had him roll the motor over a couple times with the key and some oil puked out but the gauge never read. Another weird thing was if you unplug the icp sensor instead of goin to default 700 psi it was at like 2300 psi with the duty cycle around 75%. With it plugged in it read 0's

Well a little update if I take the chip out the wts light comes on and the fuel pump kicks on. Plug the chip in and no wts or pump, tried cleaning the connection to the pcm and no luck there. Took the chip back out and it fired up but being that the pcm is for a SD it ran like $hit because it has 250/100 single shots. I guess I'll just wait and call no limit Monday they tuned the chip
