Also, check the turbo. Take off all of that hosing from the middle bracket forward & shine a light down there. Take a look at the compressor wheel. With a stock airbox & that many miles it may have dusted the turbo a little.

Take the valley cover off & look down in the valley & look for oil leaks & fuel leaks.

Don't know if there is coolant, I will have to buy sight UN seen, and take the owners word, its a 81/2 hour ride so will have to give money for deposit. Do you think even if needing something this would still be a good deal? Thanks for all your input

Damn, it's a tough call. My brother just bought a 97 f250 with 200k miles & I have already replaced the fuel & water pump. So you may want to plan on that anyway. Maybe offer $3800 or around there.

Did he tell you how often he changed the oil?

Another thing, auto or manual? If auto, has it been rebuilt recently? 200,000 miles on a stock tranny is A LOT.

For a ccsb obs, I would buy it regardless. Id buy it if it didnt even have a motot/trans if its clean. Theres not a whole lot of them running around since they were only made in 96-97

He paid $3700! Haha. But that thing looks damn clean!! If the truck is all stock I am sure you will have no problems getting it home. But I wouldn't add ANY performance to it until you upgrade the tranny.

Make sure you check frame rust as well!
