A/C Questions

Installing a new condensor, reciever/drier, and and orfice tube on the truck. Where is the orfice tube located and how much charge does the a/c get? I recovered 2.78lbs.

well, I know this is a few days late.. orifice tube is in the evaporator inlet.

3 lbs is full charge.

^^^yep seen the label under the hood for the charge. Replaced receiver drier and found orfice tube. Tube was starting to plug up with small metal particles.

Would it be wise to just replace the.a/c system with high mileage? Mine worked great but then i got the.dreaded "defrost only" condition that ocurs when windshield.leakage wipes out the.gem, fusepanel,.and/or both.
