Okay, so my a/c quit working. Just up and nothing. I used to blow really cold, now its nothing but hot air, like the heater is on. It also surges, it will blow hard on 4 then kick off like its on 1, then back to 4. Only done that a couple times. Since the last time I used it and it worked right, I've installed amp research steps and a 6 inch lift.

My radiator fluid is a little low, could that affect it? I've crawled undernieth and watched the compressor kick in and out. It has a new belt and tension on too. Is there any coolant lines that could have broke or come lose in the engine bay? Or anything else. I'm stumped.

Check the ac lines. People had issues of them rubbing thru on the IC piping. And as for te fan speeds you have a bad resistor

I had the air temp blend actuator go bad on mine. left it running one day with a/c on, got back in few min later and nothin but hot air. Not sure about the fan speed change... Does yours have climate control?

It is a pita! You pretty much have to remove the whole dash out of the truck. It is behind and right of the radio.... I tried everyway I could to get to it without removing the dash. If you don't have patience time and a selection of tools id take it to a shop.

If the compressor is still cycling slowly or somewhat normal still has Freon charge in it, if it is low it will usually cycle more rapidly. If it has a ruptured line the the compressor will not cycle. But even if the charge is a little low it should blow at least a little cool and not just hot air.

Put a set of manifold gauges on your lines. It'll say a lot. I rented a set from Autozone. Gauges were bouncing all over. Ultimately I was low on freon and my low pressure side valve was leaking. Evac and recharge and it's been good for over a year now.
