New here. I lurk these forums for a good read often. finally joined up cause I need some help of my own.

My truck has a miss at Idle felt through the RPM's until around 1400 or so. which I'm pretty sure it's still there just not as east to feel. Anyway I ran a buzz test all 8 buzz loud. Contribution failed #2 so I pull the cover and look at the UVCH start it up and pull the plug. No change in idle but when I pull #4 it gets worse, obviously. Anyway I decide to pull #2 and swap with #4 run Contribution now #4 fails. So I've narrowed it to this injector, now where I'm stumped is I still have good buzz and oil still coming from the spout that is even with the other 3 injectors flow. I'm not one to call it quits easily an plop a new one in that hole and call it good. plus these are 160/100's so getting just one is a bit of an issue and being strapped on money like most of us is another problem. Any leads or advise would be much apprieciated. I've done a bit of research and have read about loose poppet screws but it seems I would have no oil flow if that were the case.

thanks in advance

Sounds like you have a bad injector. Who built them, you should be able to send it back to them and have them make it a good one. Might cost a little, but not as much as buying a new one. If they have some miles on them, you might just have them all gone through and freshened up.

I don't understand what your confusion is with? your injector is bad, replace it, and carry on with life. JUST because it has oil coming from the spout does not dictate a ”good” injector. Make sure fuel filter is clean too

I was looking more for a little help in what to look for to find why it's bad. or whats wrong. I was raised to find out why a part went bad not just replace and move on. I've already been in contact with a shop to have them gone through. I was just looking to further educate myself and maybe learn something from this ordeal...

Im not trying to be an ass, but until your injector builder can look at it, youre probably not going to know for sure. I understand and agree with not throwing parts, and wanting to understand further, but like I said...

I understand you 100% Mainly I was just a bit dissapointed buying a set of injectors, knowing they were used mind you and having a bad one. Not unheard of obviously a lot of us have gotten burnt doing deals with strangers. Mainly it being the weekend and I for once had nothing pressing going on I decided to give it a go. Hopefully I'll hear from Rosewood tomorrow. On a side note me being me I went out and took another look the injector was throwing oil but not as much as the other 3, so I popped it out and tossed in one of the good stockers which does the same, good oil flow from 2,6, and 8 but 4 just spits a little still even with a different GOOD injector. Any Ideas?

You might just have some air in the system. You gotta give injectors some time to bleed the air out.

Do you have a regulated return system. If not, the only way air is exiting the system is through the injector. When you change injectors, You introduce air into the fuel system, and even more critical, you introduce air into the HPO system. Air sucks at hydraulics.
