Trash clogging up something maybe, I know you have a sump but after my fuel system install I was having a problem a lot like yours.... The truck would run great and it of nowhere I would loose pressure ad the truck would run like crap, I replaced all sorts of things before dropping the tank and finding trash that would suck up against the pick up tube after turning the truck off it would float away from the pickup and then once driving it would slowly work its way back over

You you have a regulated return, if so, tighten your filters, loosen the lines to the regulator, turn the pump on till the fuel bleeds out those lines with pressure. Tighten them back up and see what happens. I've seen regulated returns not bleed right and lose prime. Something to try anyways

is it possible that the pump could be sucking air through a o ring thats bad? causing it not to pump any fuel up? like o the gerotor pump pherhaps?
