I just finished my latest 6L as some of you may know. As with any build it took a few months to get all the bugs worked out and since then it's been perfect. That is until Monday morning...
It's been nearly a month of daily driving and I've noticed some days she will break loose at 40mph with the sun shining and other days it felt like I was loaded down with about two ton. Well, long story short I decided to hook up my in cab fuel pressure gauge since it was the last thing on my to-do list and it's had me terrified I was starving my injectors.
Immediately after starting the truck I noticed I had only 38-40psi. Thinking it was an air pocket in the line or something I went for a quick drive. 20psi WOT. Now I'm irritated so I crawl under the truck and crank up the pressure to the max. 26psi WOT. 33psi max at idle. by the time I made it home I was 30psi max at idle.
I had my hopes that all the bad luck people were having was resolved by the "New Upgraded Motor" but alas after 1000 miles on a brand new unit, it looks like the quality of Pureflow products just isn't what it used to be... Like always Pureflow is sending me a new motor but I'm not thrilled about having it die on me 1000 miles from home.
I have an Aeromotive pump on hand, but I'm not sure how to plumb it without having the pumps fighting each other. Anyone else using an AD2 unit with another manufacturers pump or do I just need to do what really don't want to do - sell it and go a different route?
