Are Alliant injectors really that bad? I know everyone is going to say stick with reman Motorcrafts. I understand they are the best, but what is so wrong with a new Alliant injector? What makes them sub par? I've found a couple builders who sell upgraded sets (155's) made from new Alliant injectors. Like I said, I'm just trying to understand what is so wrong with them.

I have realized that after looking at some of the builders. BUT, All I hear is stick with Motorcraft. What I want to know is what is so bad about Alliant? Subpar parts? Short life expectancy? Why are they looked down upon?

that is not the case anymore as you can no longer buy NEW injectors you can only get reman which is why most builders switched to alliant

All we install is Alliant products. We are also a dealer. Never had a problem with them. Had more problems with ford remans before we were a dealer

So a set of new Alliants that are upgraded by a reputable builder would be perfectly reliable? I am about to replace all 8 of mine. I can buy a set of 155's made from Alliants cheaper than I can buy a full set of reman Motorcraft. If they are reliable, that's what I'm getting. I can't afford to shell out $2000+ on a set of upgraded oem's.

The think with motocraft is that they are the closest you can get to new. They are the only ones who put new spool valves on.

for every 5 sets of Alliants we install, 4 of the trucks come back with some sort of issue...

They are know for several issues, Circlip failures, the spool valves sticking(some right out of the box), injectors literally breaking in half(bolts holding the upper part on break clean off), the o-ring they used for awhile start to erode themselves and eventually blow out, needing to reseal the entire truck again. Of course they claim to have all the bugs worked out by now, except for stiction....

I will never put an Alliant 6.0 injector in anything I'll ever own.

yeap! try doing injectors in a e-series that has every accessory known to man on the front assembly taking up all sorts of room, and then having two of them never even click once and having to do the entire job over!

or better yet the disappearing circlip act where the oil pump and front cover gets chewed to all hell and you lose low pressure oil

Been there, done that. Thats when I stoped using alliant. We now use only ford injectors in the 6.0.

Alliant uses subpar parts compared to Reman Motorcrafts had many of problems with the spool valve orings prematurely wearing out causing hard start conditions when hot.

Answer me this then. If there were so many issues with Alliant, why are reputable builders using them and risking their reputations? I can understand having a budget friendly option in your product line, but why use them if it could look negatively on them as a builder?
