My father has to change his alternator and asked me if its easier to pull from the top or from the inner fender.

Looks like if pulled from the top, he needs to pull battery, battery tray and intake.

Any Input?

I would think pulling battery tray and intake would be easiest. Gives you all the room.... Does he have dual alternators?

The inner fender is the easiest. Gives you the most room. About an hour worth of work time. and easier to get to the tensioner as well.

Pull the wheel and inner fender.

When you pull the battery tray there's still the FESM support structure under it, doesn't make it a whole lot easier, in my opinion.

Just lay on your back under the truck and reach up though the bottom by the fan and put a ratchet in the tensioner. Then pull it down and zip tie it to the shroud post on the bottom until you are done. Then just cut the zip tie when done.
