So my Dad bought this 48' Raven Semi trailer in 2003-04 when scrap and aluminum prices were up. lucky for us we had a friend that owned a scrap yard and bought this before it was cut up. The trailer was completely stripped down of all steels and sold as clean aluminum. So Dad Rigged up a hay wagon to it and drug it home. It has been sitting till time to start this project. He wants a 30' dual tandem Goose-neck trailer. and told me i can have whats left so 18ft car-hauler it is.

That is pretty badass man. Everything looks great except the black around the welds. Im sure lots of crap has soaked into the aluminum over the years and its hard to clean it out so that makes for a bad weld. It wouldnt pass a visual inspection. Welds themselves look great but that black is no good.

Thanks I have spend alot of time building this
as for the welds I tried to clean the oxidation out as best as i could. Most of the welding is done with a spoolgun Some with my Tig

I've never messed with aluminum, but would it have made any difference to have acid washed it?
