This might be a stupid question, but with the plug and play technology using the OBO II port do I have to hard wire my MM to make this work?

What you need is to buy the pass through AMP plug, not the one that comes with the kit. That way, you can plug the mm into the back of it. You will still need to hardwire to keyed power if you want the mm to cycle with the key...

i can't get the right thing to attach

AMP Part # 76404-01A

Cool thanks man! That's easy enough!

Now the big question is which sponsors have the best deal on them or anyone going to offer a good deal with the holidays coming up?

Yep it's just a matter of getting the pass through kit like Sootie said. I am assuming you have a 2013 judging by your sig. That is good since the plug and play kits don't work on the 11-12 trucks. If you need some Amp's we can make it happen for you. Shoot me a PM, email or phone call. [email protected] 267-935-9755

I highly recommend saving the money on the plug and play. The fords are extremely easy to wire up. Its def worth the savings. Anyone needing AMP Steps feel free to email me or PM me. Also right now AMP Research is offering $100 mail in rebates on all step purchases!

I agree with Josh on the hardwire vs plug and play. Usually we push to sell/install the hardwired kits but if you have to have plug and play then you have to have it. Either way you can't go wrong.

On the Dodge and GM i would highly suggest the Plug and Play, Most GM require taking off all 4 door panels, newer dodge is a real struggle to get to where you have to tap the wires behind the dash.

plug and play is well worth the extra $ and the ease of installation. I have installed both and will never hard wire again. The good thing is, the 17 platinums are finally coming with these from the factory like the 150's. Just think of all the money I'm going to save on the next truck LOL

"save" LOL I'm sure they will happily work the added cost into the price of the truck

What issues did you run into on the hard wire? Yes the instructions seem fairly simple but would like to hear your experience.

I went with plug and play on my truck and it was worth it only because I don't know anything about wiring! LOL Anyone needing pricing let me know, and as Josh said AMP is offering a $100 mail in rebate!

Didn't run into any problems it was just a little time consuming taping into the factory harness. the plug and play is just idiot proof which is better for an idiot like me

^^^^this. Wiring it took me as long as installing everything. Had I known there was a plug and play harness for the OB port..........I would have spent the money and bought it.
