Does anyone know the difference between the two different part numbers AMP steps offers?

Yes, I am arguing with them and returning a set now.

75134-01a is you traditional step where you tap into the wiring harness at the passenger front door with 4 wires.

76134-01a is plug and play. They use a different harnes and controller but everything else is the same. The plug and play uses the obdii port to operate the steps. So they always have to be plugged in.

I don't know what year truck you have but you need to go on Amps website and look at the chart to see what part number works for your truck. Their mobile website is WRONG as well is amazon for fitment model number and year model.

Edit: Also what ever you do, Do NOT buy bestop steps. I am taking them off and replacing them with amps.

Why? I've put the Bestop steps on quite a few trucks. I actually like them better than the Amp.

Im looking at getting a set. Why do you like them better? I was told if you pull the logos off you couldn't tell the difference.

Yes they look almost identical.

The gear set is beefier and heavier on the Bestop. Get a lot of claims on the Amp breaking from ice.

Running the Amps on my truck and no complaints. Love 'em! I went with the traditional wire-in model. Wiring them up wasn't too much of a hassle. I only wish there was an option for a switch so you can keep them permanently in or out. On my '10 F150 Platinum with factory power steps, I could control them from the dash option menu. Made it easy when going through a car wash and extending them out to get cleaned. First world problems, right?

I aggree that on the 08-15 SuperDuty wiring is cake. Try them on a 13+ Ram or I'm sure a lot of other vehicles, that OBD2 is worth double what it cost in that case

I just put amp steps on my 15 and honestly I prefer the wire in method. But that's just me. It really doesn't take that long to wire them in either if you have a multi meter. I love my amp steps, great product, work great, look great and you can tell they are very high quality. Needless to say my girl friend likes them too lol

Very nice write up.
I chose the OBDII....I didn't want to cut/splice factory wiring.
