im at a loss here , went to ford and got the o rings , still does the same thing , not even a minute after shutting off it just cranks and cranks wanting to start , iv read symptoms of a bad ipr are rough idle and driving , this thing idles perfect , drives perfect , perfect throttle response and everything , something is still up with my electrical system as when under heavy throttle the battery gauge comes on and flickers , and the gauge is at half even when running and operating temps

He ended up doing sensors and new cables and all. He put new batteries in it before all this and then he said went and had them check and they were bad. Got new ones and starts every time. Don't know it if will fix your problem by can't hurt to get them checked. I always go back to basics my dad always told me gotta have fuel fire air and compression. Diesels are a little more of a paid . I found a link the other day let me see if I can find it again. Might help

iv read those and my truck really does none , only thing i can think of is possible ipr , it runs fine , does not lope or cut out or loss in power , all fuses checked out even unhooked the fuel bowl heater , or at-least the test light lights up on all fuses under the hood , anyway to test the black relays in the fuse box under the hood?

Can you get a scanner on it at all to see what numbers you're getting while cranking?

not sure if the super-chips scanner does that , does not throw any codes either besides the ebpv and such , dont have a tach in my truck so cant tell if the cps or not

Have you tried unplugging the icp during a hot start?
Oil level in engine? Smell like anything but oil?

Is there oil in the lifter valley or on the bellhousing? If so call diesel o-rings http:www.dieselorings.com> or check out riff raff. Replace icp o-rings,HPOP lines orings ipr O-rings.
Couple of years ago I had a no hot start and it was my HPOP lines. Gave me an excuse to put an adrenaline on the truck. I orderd the pump and when I went to install it the o-rings for the lines were chewed up. Live and learn.
