I have had two of my friends trucks stolen. Both 6.0 powerstrokes. I want to keep mine safe from someone stealing it. Once it gets stolen once I don't think I could fathom having another truck just to be stolen again. So I want to protect it now. I know jimmy jammers will make it where they got to busy the window out but what about an alarm system or tracking device. Lo jack maybe?

things to consider
Ravelco is going to stop them from starting it

not from towing it

not from vandalizing it

and it only works when you remove the insert and take it with you

it also disables your remote start if you have one

Just insure the truck to the tits, and wave "bye, bye" when someone takes it.

That's what I did after mine was stolen, and found...insured to the tits.

Now, I wouldn't care if someone stole it...I would just start looking for a new project.

If I could get close to what mine is worth according to kbb, I'd be fine, and rolling around in a new one tomorrow lol.

And by new one, I mean a ccsb 6.0 w/ almost 200k on it lol.

Exactly.

So just insure the hell out of it. (An appraisal is required)

yup. make sure any and all mods are accounted for in the insurance quote. if you have a built trans make sure they know and youll get more even for something like that. this is actually something i have to do im just afraid of how far my rates are going to jump because of my age.

I have gap coverage on my truck. Just need to insure lift wheels tires motor upgrades. I couldn't fathom getting another truck after one being stolen. All the work you put into it just gone. Is rather them vandalize it than take it.

I have taken my truck to Houston several times, I always pull the fuel pump fuse. It might crank and get them to the first stop sign then she's going dead, I would like to think they would be to worried about getting caught and leave it than trying to figure out what's wrong with their stolen truck.

Nothing will prevent someone from towing your truck if they really want it.

Jimmy Jammers will make it harder to break in. An alarm will make it harder for someone to break in without others noticing. A Ravelco or other anti-start device will make it harder for someone to drive off with your truck (the Ravelco makes it nearly impossible). A LoJack will make it more difficult to hide the truck once it's been stolen. Good insurance coverage will make it less painful if your truck does happen to get stolen.

The key takeaway? Layers of protection are the most effective way of keeping your stuff. Try to incorporate as many of the items I mentioned as possible, but understand nothing is 100%. However, a thief will usually move on to an easier target and there's plenty out there.

I'm gonna get revelco to start out. Then an alarm system etc. but for now before I can get revelco I want to make it not start in the mean time. Like no fuse or disconnection of the starter or something to that effect.

the bad thing there is the damage to your injectors that can happen

and possibly forgetting to put the fuse in yourself

the FICM is what you want to disable then the injectors won't dry fire
