I'm putting 06 axles in my OBS, I am looking at these track bars that company's sell and it's crazy!!!! I come from the jeep world were trac bars are $120 not $300 and a jeep bar has more bends.

Has anyone built their own and have some pics and/or tips?

Why is this in the 6.0 aftermarket section? But anyways... we are building an adjustable track bar for the same thing. 06 axles in an obs. We are at least going to try. If it doesn't work, we plan on using a pmf one.

This one is done right but it is a budget build. Some things aren't done how I would do them but all in all there will be less than 10k into this truck. It will look great with fresh paint and the powdercoated frame with all the painted hardware. Every nut and bolt off this truck spent a week in a tumbler. Everything is like new. As far as the track bar, we have a spare one to cut up so we are having the local machine shop cut the stock end off of it and machine out the end and tap it so we can run a johnny joint in the end. As far as the bracket we are using a modified ballistic fab track bar mount. I'll post pics when we get it going. The parts just came the other day

The expensive/hard part is the lower end. If you want a machined end to fit into some tubing, we have them that we use with our bars. $74.99 shipped. Might help one of you guys.

This was just an idea my buddy who's truck this is decided to do. I think it seems a bit ghetto and have been nagging him to just buy one of your track bars... What needs to be changed on the lower end? If it's significant then I will tell him to just scrap this idea all together and coin up and buy one.

I am a machinist so I have had the idea of making or cutting down the end and turning down the OD to fit into tube and weld it.

The problem I see with your idea is the diameter of the stock bar wouldnt leave much material around the threaded portion. The lowered end of the '05-14 is a taper sleeve.

Thats what we make. Its a multi op part on both a mill and a lathe so its pretty time consuming. Im hoping with the live tooling on our new lathe we will have enough power to do all the ops at the same time.

We have a doosan TT1800SY. Twin spindle twin turret with y axis on the upper. I won't be able to make it on there since its always running production.

But just to make one for my self it wouldn't be to bog of a deal on the manual equipment.

Is there a taper in the hole.

I agree. I don't think it is a great idea. Just sharing with what my friend plans on doing with myself helping... I am going to mention that to him before he cuts things up. All the hassle IMO it would be worth it to just spend the $350 on your adjustable
