It's almost time for me to get new tires and I'm debating whether I should keep with 38s or go bigger and a bigger wheel. Right now I'm on a 38 mud grappler with 18 inch fuel throttle. Let me see what you have. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410368625.752146.jpg

What size lifts fit 40's? I have an 8" but was told to not go bigger than 38

2005 F250 6.0 powerstroke, 6 speed manual, egr delete, arp head studs, new oil cooler, aftermarket coolant filter, custom intake, 4" down pipe into dual 6" stacks, 8" lift, TSD super panty dropper tune.

Pretty sure that yellow truck is like 10" in the front and 6" lift springs with no block in the rear. Let me ask him.

edit: Just confirmed. It was 10" in the front. And yes, it rubbed.

Wow rubbed even with a 10". I'm guessing that was when turning?

yes. He said the guy he got the lift from claims it was a 10" but he thinks it was smaller.

My buddy is running 40x15.50x20's on his 03, came with 39.5x13.5x20's. The 39.5's didn't really rub, pretty sure he's at least a 10", but he bought the truck with the lift on. The new tires rub severely and turning around the driveway is rough. We spaced the front bumper 5/8" forward which helped, but it needs trimming now. They're probably 20x10's though, relatively narrow wheel.

Another buddy with an 05 had 40's on his, I forget the width, but he was running a 12.5" lift, no rubbing.

I really want to run 40's but don't want to have to trim anything guess I'll go with 38's

Everyone that I know who has a 8" with 40x15.5's has had to fix parts of their fenders LOL

38x15.5's are such a good size. Not only easier to steer. I really could tell a difference in power when I went to 40's... I like 38's much better.

Yeah I have an 8 on mine. I like how the big time kustom truck sits. That's why I was wandering but I think he's got 38s too

I ran a 40x15(or16 can't remember) on a 20 inch rim on my 04, even with a ten inch lift it still rubbed the leaf spring and had to trim the bumper
