Need more traction for next spring.

Anyone try to install it themselves? (I leave transmissions and gear setups to the professionals)

Most the time swapping the bearings and ring gear onto the new carrier and reinstalling the carrier leaves you right at or very close to where you were for back lash with the old carrier. You are not really setting up gears. You can buy new carrier bearings or use a tool like this to pull them off.

I'm about to do a gear swap soon. Ebay also has the clamshell style bearing puller ($240) which is where i will be getting it although it isn't a yukon. If ebay isn't your thing lookup "broncograveyard" or "tomsbroncoparts" websites for a better price on the yukon puller.

Also the true track works good up front. I'm assuming you drag race?

I make a couple passes a year...nothing serious at all, just looking to establish results for changes I make during the year.

It's to the point that when in 4x4 with a Tru Trac in the rear, and the stock diff in the front, it doesn't hook up without slipping. (Evident in the increased 60 foot times)

I don't wanna buy rims and slicks when I can just have true 4wd.

The last race of the year sucked, and has me pretty excited for the results of the changes I'm making this winter.

For the price of that, I'll chalk it up towards paying someone who has done them...

I have a truetrac in the front diff of my F-150. It works great in the front. I have a Detroit Locker in the rear of that truck and it feels like the front pulls dang near just as hard as the rear does.

I had a Toyota 4runner that I had a Detroit locker in the rear and a true trackup front. I honestly like the feel of the true track better, as a Detroit is a bit harsh.

Already have it in the rear...would like one for the front, but I keep buying other sch!t.

I have set of 4:10 gears to put in too, but I think they are gonna be useless in the quarter...bought them a few years ago.
